Practical:
Wiring of units, Standalone and controllers setup of software and configuration. Enrolment of users and Access levels.
Fibre Optics: (for CCTV – a connectivity solution for longer distances). 5 June 2024
Level: Intermediate
Requirements: Basic computer & network knowledge.
Day 1:
Theory:
Intro to Fibre Optics, Types of Fibre Cable, Cable Losses, Installation Guidelines and Quotes.
Practical:
Mock-up of Ethernet Converters and Fibre Cable, Analog Video & Data TX and RX mock up.
Advanced Networking: (for CCTV – in depth focus on your switches and networking in general). 6 June 2024
Level: Advanced
Requirements: Requires you to complete our IP Made Easy Course first.
Day 1: Theory:
RJ45 Connector with CAT5 & 6 cables, explaining a switch, IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, Power class of switches and budget, SFP’s and fibre single and multi-mode, redundant layer 2 functionality, VLAN and setup, star and ring configurations, TCP/IP, DHCP & ports, Subnet, Multicast, QoS, SNMP, LAG – Port trunking, Netgear and TP-Link switches.
Practical:
How to setup a Netgear switch, How to use the switch, use extra functions like cable tester, Connect a star configuration setup & VLAN, LAG and QoS.
