Lesson 6.2: Routine Maintenance Schedule

Preventative Maintenance Tasks:

  • Lens Care: Clean camera lenses every 3 months to clear dust and cobwebs

  • Power Supplies: Check power supply units for signs of overheating or degraded performance

  • Cable Integrity: Inspect outdoor cables and entry points for weather damage, wear, or degradation

  • Storage Health: Confirm HDD health status inside the DVR/NVR menu

  • Software & Access: Update DVR/NVR firmware if updates are available and verify remote access app connections remain functional
